Hubby and I spent yesterday polishing specimens: some Hampton Butte petrified wood, Dry Creek petrified and agatized wood, a petrified burl, two pieces of Paulina pink limbcasts, and a sweet little nodule with a tiny vug.

One day here in northeastern MN, we went out on a walk to see where the wild blueberries were, and we came upon a rock outcropping. I always pick up interesting rocks. This one is a foliated gneiss, probably over 2 1/2 billion years old. And there it was, just waiting for me to pick up. That I live where such old things are there on the surface...mindblowing

Lake Michigan is a magical place to Rockhound. Sometimes, you'll find remnants of little crayfish washed up on the beach.
I kept this little dude after I found he was mostly complete. I named him Henry.

Also pictured are some Geodes, a green Unakite and some coral fossils
