Reading “Minidoka Revisited” and a Ghibli rendition of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” is playing on my Spotify. There is some bittersweet irony in this, probably.

No. 2 of Roger Shimomura’s Minidoka series, depicting the Seattle-area Japanese community at the start of their forced relocation and internment during WWII, is on view at Seattle Art Museum as a part of its core American Art collection. No. 5, representing Unit 442, is on view at Tacoma Art Museum.
