Attached gifs are: A* monster pathfinding, teleporting, slime mold replication.
Trying to puzzle out a good way to reflect any items or resists a player may have. Right now I've settled on a blurred, larger form of the glyph representing the sprite. Not extremely "obvious" visually though.
This player might be equipping a ring of fire resistance, for example.

haven't made a lot of visible progress (esp with upcoming semester stress coming to a head), but did some backend refactoring and my favorite way to display HP bars in a canvas.
also - somehow didn't realize i wasn't centering my map text, so now glyphs overlap nicely.
