But 2022 was only the 25th anniversary of the earliest private releases of the project. The first "complete" version's debut on #ZopharsDomain will have been 25 years ago in 2024. It's only fitting that I save something good for that!

Unzip and look in the Historical Archives folder. Take any of the patches there up to v3.4 and try them in Mesen. Before doing so, make sure Mesen is configured to start up in a randomized state instead of initializing RAM with 0s or 1s.
Now start the game and look at the timer 😅
This will be fixed when v4.5 is released.

Super Mario World is one of the most hacked games of all. There's a whole website devoted to hacking it, SMWCentral. They do have Yoshi's Island and Super Mario 64 hacks too, but SMW is the main attraction.

On a couple of videos, there have been complaints in the comments about the Bowser sprite for Super #Mario Bros DX. Gonna take some time to see what I can do to improve on it.

I have found a new love for fan made #ROMHacks. I guess I initially assumed most hacks were just fans making goofy “sequels”, “harder difficulties”, “sprite swaps” or just something completely different from original game. Just now realizing there are lots of hacks that focus on fixing issues or various annoyances within the original game… and now I’m obsessed with #ROMHacking.
