#lineageos ist schon deswegen ein Segen im Vergleich zu #ios und offiziellen #roms , weil die ganzen nutzlosen (und bedenklichen) Hersteller-Apps weg sind, die #akku und #datenvolumen fressen.

Ich benutze auch #g***le nicht , also kein microG etc. Als Backbone für persönliche Dinge ist #nextcloud da (Kontakte, Kalender, Photos, Dateien...) mit #davx .

Ich hatte schon viele Geräte mit #lineageos, und die #akku Laufzeit war darunter immer viel besser als mit #stock #rom .

I spent a few hours yesterday loading up some more #roms on my #SteamDeck. I grabbed some classic PS1 games and I really like comparing different console versions of games.

For example, did you know that there's a Playstation version of Lost Vikings 2? It's fully voice acted and has animated cut scenes, but the 3D models are so ugly that I'd still rather play that game on SNES or Genesis.

Außerdem ist es nie ein erklärtes Ziel von #lineageos gewesen, *komplett* G***le-frei zu sein.

Ich halte die wenigen Verbindungen, die da noch aufgebaut werden, für tolerabel.

Doofer finde ich #roms mit vorinstallieren #opengapps ohne eine #vanilla Alternative, weil ich G***le gar nicht benutze.

Bei #lineageos weiß ich auch immer, dass ich die #roms weiter selbst mit aktuellen Sicherheitspatches bauen kann, falls der Support aufhört.

My modest little #homeserver is only 3.5TB or so. Mostly #Jellyfin, photos and #game #roms.

Well today we have a second hard drive, double the capacity... and we get to wait all day for the initial #rsync run to copy everything.

78... hours...

Gonna rifle through rsync to see if I can limit run time or bash script to stop after a few hours and pick back up the next night. I have a few watchers in my family who I don't want to be offline for more than three days but if I can limit the run time to say, 3am to 10am, when no one is watching and just expect it to finish in a week or so, I'd be ok with that.

I decided to dive into the world of #SteamDeck. I don't like gaming on my #PC so I thought this was a good way to play some of my massive #Steam library. But mainly it's a solid little #emulation machine. I've been tinkering with it for like a solid week, haven't even played much. Though I did beat #MonkeyIsland. I'll write some proper instructions soon about how to make a small FAT volume with mtools.

In the meantime, go download the latest version of MAME with the #Psion #SIBO #emulator and use #EDisAsm to dump #EPOC16 #ROMs!
