Next was a great talk by Chris Rider on #DEI #analytics and the #NFL's #RooneyRule at the #Sloan #Sports Analytics Conference. It's still difficult to determine if the Rooney Rule actually works, and Rider does an excellent job pinning down the big problems in achieving representation parity in the NFL and throws down the gauntlet on how organizations can contribute to actually making a dent in this problem. If the #DallasCowboys were smart, they'd snap up Bryon Leftwich for a bundle and confound everybody's "McCarthy is gonna call the plays" expectations. Because let's face it, "it's been reported by a team source" isn't the same thing as "we pinky-swear to all our fans!"

Bonus: hiring a Black coach is good. Hiring the best man for the job, who happens to be Black, is better. Wasn't Byron's fault that Brady is 900 years old.
