I have long had a problem with #RoonLabs and #Qobuz including TiVo reviews with some albums. I have also long had a problem with the #ClassicalMusic record labels so often only signing those whom society deems to be attractive to recording contracts. Physical beauty *is a social construct, nothing more. That being said, this #Roon TiVo review of Nicola Benedetti's Szymanowski: Violin Concerto No.1 is cruel and sexist.

Just realized I can play my #Qobuz #playlists in #Roon. What it does not do is go through each artist/album information page as the #playlist goes through. It seems like common sense that this would be an option, but it's not. It does give you the option to go to the artist or album page for each song on the playlist, but it would stay on that page as the next song began and the playlist continued. I would like #RoonLabs just to add the available option to auto-rotate information pages.

@Debra I started my musical journey in the 60s...the #Monkees and the #beatles ....as I move through my 60s and with the assistance of #roonlabs I return to the 60s to pick up those more outre musical tastes I missed...

The #RoonLabs metadata support is such that artists or engineers in credits, or people or works referred to in text writeups, can hyperlink to those things elsewhere in your library. It's a phenomenal way to explore your music.

If you subscribe to Tidal and/or Qobuz, those streaming libraries are hooked in and feel like your library is just bigger now.

Also: #RoonReady networked audio equipment just works.

Nope, it's an excellent example of commercial-quality commercial software — one I don't mind paying for, in part because the extreme goodness of the user experience wouldn't be possible without the full-time maintenance #roonlabs do of their backend servers and the extensive metadata they supply.

I enjoyed using SlimServer (initially commercial, then community-maintained) for years, but Roon is way more pleasing and and non-nerd family member friendly.

@neil Now, #RoonLabs caveats relative to your initial wishlist:

There is some communication with Roon's central servers for the purpose of maintaining functionality and doing the necessary queries to pull your music's metadata.

There are dedicated Roon desktop programs for macOS and Windows, but no production-quality web interface.

The Linux server expects to be running on something Intel/AMD amd64ish.

There do exist free builds for Pi streaming audio endpoints!

Reading the #JSBach summary on #RoonLabs and learning about how war and various relocations of his remains has called into question whether is current burial site is actually #Bach at all. This his moved the spirit within me, with sure fire, that I will name my new punk band, Bach's Lost Body.

I realize TiVo album reviews are cheap and easy for #Roon and #Qobuz to utilize and generate, but they are always so awful. #QobuzUSA and #RoonLabs are going to have to do better. It is past time for them to do so. Yes, Roon and Qobuz may still not technically be huge profit drivers, but certainly they can reinvest in a replacement for #TiVo reviews. #Mastomusic

I use a #protectly firewall on my SoHo to mitigate issues. And Im about done with my music streaming server from Innuos. And I would never use #roonlabs at this point.

#roonlabs exploration interface is just so ... exceptionally great.

I can jump from my ripped CD collection to the composition, listing all recordings of it available on either Tidal or Qobuz, complete with reviews and stream quality.

It's just CENTURIES ahead of navigating versions in either of the streaming services (#Tidal, #Qobuz, #Idagio, #Spotify) manually.

Especially for classical music. Because it knows how compositions work. Even when they span multiple tracks.

#RoonLabs / #Roon is such an amazing tool. It is software to manage your music library. Roon is able to tell me every artist/album in my collection that features songs written by #WillieDixon.

#Insomnia means you get sleep when you can. Slept from about 5 pm to midnight.

#RoonLabs is the best service I have been able to find for managing a music library. They exceed that mandate with being an portal of information. I don't really need to play music through Roon. That's what I have #Qobuz for. I just wish #Roon was $9/month instead of $15. Yes, I know Roon does a whole lot more than I am using it for, but I am not using it for a complete home, advanced setup music management and output system. It would be nice if I only paid for the Roon services that I use.
