When I lived in #Youbou & had #RooseveltElk visit daily. I miss living on edge of wilderness. Hoping I can get back to homesteading life in the future, with a better kindred partner who shares similar simple lifestyle dreams π

A Roosevelt Elk Bull in Sequim, Washington.
From Wikipedia...
The largest species of Elk in N. America, named after Theodore Roosevelt by a friend of his in 1897. Protecting the Roosevelt elk was the main reason for the creation of Mount Olympus National Monument in 1909 by President Theodore Roosevelt. In 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt visited the region and saw the elk named after his cousin. The following year he created Olympic National Park.
