#GPT4 can create, read, and interpret #GEDCOM files with ease. I tested it with a simple #PROMPT ("Create a GEDCOM file for John Smith, born 1863, father unknown, mother was Riley Bower") and it generated a flawless GEDCOM file. To test, I imported it into #RootsMagic, with no issues. Plus, #ChatGPT crafted a family story from a 4-gen GEDCOM export. PROMPT: "Below is a GEDCOM file. Use the information in the file to write a biographical narrative #genealogy #geneadons #familyHistory #genealogyAI

I've been using the free version of #RootsMagic for ages. Today, I upgraded to the full, paid version of RM9 thanks to a discount promo during RootsTech. $20 is a great deal!

@teddy #RootsMagic looks good. I've been using Gramps which I like but I'm new to this and just have a go at it when I'm bored.
I am using #RootsMagic do I may use the citation quality of evidence a source listing. I jnow some people spend time building thousands of people in their tree but I am more focused on building sources of data relating to their lives; who were there, where they lived, what they did for a living #genealogy

@sheribush @david @genealogy IMHO Family Historian has always been way ahead of Rootsmagic (7 or 8) and I have tried both. FH7 holds its data in Gedcom format too so your data is not locked away in some proprietary database. Product support from the manufacturers is excellent but the user group FHUG https://www.fhug.org.uk/ is a real bonus. #familyhistorian #rootsmagic #gedcom

It's got to be done.
Feeling virtuous after spending a few hours tidying up and merging places in my #Genealogy database.
BTW I use #FamilyHistorian and #RootsMagic
