Started a rewatch of the #LOTR films yesterday. It's such a huge difference compared to #RoP.

Especially that hidden platonic romance shit between Halbrand/Sauron and Galadriel, which is completely missing in #LOTR is a huge relief to me. Furthermore, how stupid Galadriel occasionally behaves in RoP is really astounding. She simply does not listen to what Halbrand tells her, she sticks to what she wants to believe. 🙄

On the contrary, Elrond is a real sourpuss in LOTR.

Wasn’t sure if I would make it. Had to read ~110 pages of the Lord of the Rings yesterday for the #reading challenge of the Tea with Tolkien Society. I started at 6:30 p.m. and finished reading 11:30 p.m. 🙈

Guess I’ll continue reading the following chapters for February next. Otherwise, I might have a problem with my scheduling again end of this month.

Was astounded, how easy the reading went.

The Tea with Tolkien ommunity shared a challenge for reading The Lord of the Rings an The #Silmarillion throughout the year. As some years have passed since I read the books, I’m thinking about taking part. I just need to decide whether or not to read in English. Of The Lord of the Rings I have both the English original and the German translations by Carroux and Krege. Of the Silmarillion I only own the German version.
