I'm having trouble with ubuntu LTS 22.04, I wanna install ROS2 on wsl but it's showing some errors and i have no idea how to proceed further #2204 #windowssubsystemforlinux #ros

You can run now #ROS for #Pepper with NAOqi 2.9!
I presented my recent collaboration with Théo Magoudi and Mouad ABRINI to make it work at the #ROSConFr

Do you always forget to source install/setup.sh in #ROS? Do you hate switching to another terminal for running #colcon? You can use ros-direnv to make this automatically. https://github.com/wentasah/ros-direnv
Currently trying to learn more webots while scheduling getting more ROS2 hands on tutorial projects under the belt for the upcoming capstone project.
The hope is once I'm through with the capstone these skills can be utilized to provide a good background for a number of robotics oriented project ideas that have been floating in my head for ages.
I have my repeatable dev envs setup nicely for ROS2 with all of its tooling, a bunch of great packages, and hardware acceleration means smooth gazebo/rviz setups. Throw in tunneled VS Code and it solves a lot of problems for me.
...but for the life of me I can't solve this freezing issue. The VM can run fine for hours, but will graphically freeze if I run gazebo. The VM is running - I can hit services in it. But the display portion in virtual box is completely locked up.
I've been trying to avoid installing ROS2 natively, using vagrant and docker to isolate and version my robotics setup. The problem I keep encountering has been lack of autocomplete on my native IDE as a result.
As an experiment I installed the VS code cli and tried the tunneling feature - works wonderfully. My browser acts as vs code running natively on the bot's OS.

...OK, the changes that got it to work in ROS Humble is already implemented w/ the latest turtlebot3 repos, but I don't see a ros-iron-turtlebot3-navigation2 package. Seems my choice of using the cutting edge of ROS for this mini-class is biting me in the butt.
To confirm I ported the code to my Humble VM - and it works out of the box.
...I'm just going to stick with Humble for now. I'll confirm by having vagrant build me a ROS Humble box for the code to spot check and confirm.
Been spending the past day trying to get some ROS2 / Turtlebot3 sims up and running, but having a hell of a time getting nav2 to startup. I can get it to receive an estimated position, but I keep getting:
[rviz2_node]: Goal was rejected by server
...whenever I try to assign a goal. The nav2 navigation system is marked inactive.
Trying to figure out what I missed here...

Does ROS/ROS2 have any kind of environment/version tooling for isolation and repeatability? IE like Python's many virtualenv tools, Docker, VM, etc?
What's the best approach in your experience?

Most of my work in the last year was in #python, but I'll be diving head first into the gstreamer api next week. Lots of pure #c in my future, and I can't stand the gobject api. Gstreamer appears to have a huge amount of traction in robotics due to #nvidia deepstream and every camera manufacturer providing integrations.
I would also recommend learning #ros, as most job adverts also ask for it.
