I haven't quite figured out the body shape of this Rose-Breasted Grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus). It's like there's a box in the stomach, at least from this angle. Both legs look like they are on the right side. I think his body is twisted a bit, giving us that perspective. But this is a good photograph. He's at the top of one of our crepe myrtles, it doesn't have leaves yet because they initially came out during a false spring and a two-day freeze after that, withered the leaves - they'll grow again.

I almost blend.

If only he didn't have that big red spot on his chest and white bottom, this rose-breasted grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus) would be hard to see against the seed mix. This bird was at the feeder with a blue grosbeak this morning - interesting 🤔. This is another new bird for me - hurray 🎊🎉🎆. I have a few photos in a nearby tree which is a better setting, but this is the best one for showing his plumage.
