I practiced arco double bass this evening as well, but I’m not posting it. Basically the same thing I did yesterday. But I’ve used a different bow #rosin.

I’ve been using Leatherwood Bespoke Rosin, available in a wide range of hardnesses. I had been using 60%, pretty soft, nice and grabby on the lower two strings.

But the past two days I’ve used 50%, and I was surprised to find that the lower notes speak better with the slightly harder rosin. A pleasant surprise!

How important is the cure if I’m just squishing the buds anyway? My elementary understanding of the cure is allow the moisture in the buds to equalize after the dry for a better burn, if this round isn’t going to see a pipe or paper can I skip the cure or will that result in a bad press?
