Tomorrow, all being well, I shall be #routemaking along a number of potential off-road routes between #Ashbourne and #Ilam in #Derbyshire to see which one I prefer to include as the best walking path for my #GrandTourOfDerbyshire. (Derbyshire-ish - I will wander into neighbouring counties to pick up the good bits whenever I'm near)

And yes, I know #SlowWays are "already doing this", but they're not. SlowWays goes from #town centre to town centre.My routes go along the spaces between towns, and avoid going through towns as much as possible, creating unique (or rediscovering #historic) #greenways that cross the #British #countryside linking places of interest to me without relying on road or town networks.

It's an interesting exercise, and it took me a while to get my head around it. We tend to think in terms of town to town when travelling, but there's no need when #walking.
