I took in yesterday's #fieldday at the Greenley Research Center outside #Novelty, and over the next several weeks will be bringing highlights of conversations with several of the the University of #Missouri experts who presented.
Today, I feature this timely update on plant disease pressures that our #rowcrops could be facing now that after two months of #drought, we're experiencing several rounds of rain.

The combination of a mild winter and spring windstorms coupled with farmers’ cultural practices are creating the potential for increased insect pressure in corn this season.
Topping the list of concerns is the outlook for western and northern corn rootworm pressure. High numbers of beetles were trapped last year in fields monitored by the Corn Rootworm IPM Regional Working Group.
