Recently, in Estonia, members of our #SapperFamily in the @estNATO conducted a simultaneous crossing of the Valgejogi River, for the first time. This was to support the Battlegroup to manoeuvre across the battlefield. Great work! 💪

GB King George V definitives (1912-16) on a military Great War, “On Active Service” cover. Sent by the recipient (serving with the Royal Engineers, 48th Battalion HQ) to himself and post marked 1 March, 1916. The dealer did some research and thinks the cover philatelic as these covers did not require postage stamps; but best of all Norman survived the war. #philately #timbres #ukstamps #gbstamps #WW1 #BritishArmy #RoyalEngineers

Controversy erupted in 1811 when the Clerk of Survey at Dublin Castle claimed the works were not “well or substantially executed, are deficient in grouting... measurements are erroneous and the prices not correct”, prompting indignant arguments with the #RoyalEngineers involved! The tower was seized by Anti Treaty forces in July 1922 during the #IrishCivilWar until the Free State Army shelled the building into submission. 3/3
