Cyberdeck, bespoke or cobbled together?

I'd like to build a bespoke #CyberDeck for mobile hacking on microcontrollers+sensors, but I think I need to take baby steps, so maybe a cobbled together system is better; #RPi 400 keyb+Waveshare 7in HDMI display with case+High Wattage USB-C battery pack?

I can't seem to find anyone that's done this with an #RPi400, so if anyone has any ideas on this I'm all ears.

Hard to justify a custom mechanical keyboard and 3D printer at the moment.

There is kmscon.

Running in a bare virtual terminal, it provides more colors without running #Xorg or #wayland.

It compiles on #rpi400 with Alpine ⛰️.

It includes drawing on the screen, reacting to keyboard events, and executing regular #TUI applications.

The #code is C, and readable!

One of the best features on my raspberry pi 400 is that internet browsing is so slow that I’m not bothering with browsing at all.

There's something extremely soothing with a computer without fans. This RPI400 is quickly becoming my favorite computer. If only it was a laptop.. That would be awesome as h*ll!

I have a raspberry pi 400 and wants to use it as my Daly driver. IRC, mail, flac and mp3-listening. A tad of perusing the www.

(Spotify is good to have, seems that there's no ARM-flatpak for the pi?)
