Can anyone recommend a good #RS485 to #MQTT gateway? I want to do some more stuff with my #SofarSolar #inverter, and not use the cloud API's to query it.

I came across https://www.pusr.com/products/1-rs485-serial-port-etherne-device-servers-usr-n510.html which looks pretty neat. Perhaps massively overkill though.

Note: I'm not super confident with a soldering iron, and it's got to have a high #WAF factor too.

Confused to why my #elfin EE11 is only working with PoE and wont work without PoE on the switch... -_-

PoE isn't listed as a requirement and I'm injecting 5V into the device already...

Ein GNU/#Linux-basiertes System für die #Automatisierung, auf #DIN-Schiene. Zwar hat er nicht die Bridge-Funktionen wie der #RevPi (mein Liebkind), aber dafür stärkeres #SoC. RAM hat er 1-2GB, eMMC 4-128GB. Praktisch: µSD-Slot vorhanden.

Als Optionen geben sie Gigabit-#Ethernet, #CAN, #RS485/RS232 an.

Da muss ich direkt mal ein Muster anfordern. Wenn der auf 2TE out-of-the-Box CAN spielt ist das für mich grandios :-)

For example, #rs485 to an #esp32 to #mqtt to enable bidirectional comms to another rs485 device... I figured there would be some project that already does a wireless rs485, but have been surprisingly unfruitful in searching. There do appear to be things to get the data into Mqtt, so maybe with some tinkering I can get something to work. #solaredge does support modbus over ip but I don't yet understand if that allows sending data to the inverter or just reading.

What I'd really like to replace the #smappee with is something that would nicely integrate with the #solar inverters. Unfortunately, the inverters are ~250 feet away from the import/export meter, and about the same from the house's load center. I do have an #RS485 energy monitor on order which is allegedly compatible with the inverters - I'm just not sure how best to connect the two. I've been trying to research if there's a way to wirelessly bridge rs485 with #wifi or #lora but no luck yet.

One day build -- #modbus #rs485 scanner using #esp32 and sending data over bluetooth serial to mobile phone.
