Another spin from #RSD2023: “12 Bar Blues,” the debut solo album from Scott Weiland. I bought this new on CD in 1998. Here we are 25 years later and I’m buying the same album on double vinyl. Life is weird. 20-year-old me liked it well enough. Almost 45-year-old me is kind of sad Scott is gone and really so is STP. #vinyl

Bill Evans - Treasures

There always seems to be something cool released from the Bill Evans vaults on RSD, and RSD2023 is no exception.

These are really well performed and beautifully recorded radio sessions from shows in Denmark that haven't been available before. And while there's no shortage of Evans material, it's well worth having.

(Two criticisms: pressing is a bit noisy & the 16-page booklet it is just a download... sigh.)

Terry Callier - Hidden Conversations

After Callier sang on Live with Me in 2006, Massive Attack produced this album issued three years later, which has been reissued for RSD2023. It has the general approach you'd expect given the players involved.

Wish he'd lived longer so he could enjoy more of his comeback…but it must have pleased him to have been rediscovered.
