Anyone using #rtweet for #rstats is capable of authentifying using auth_setup_default() ?

I can't manage to make it work, and I don't know if it's me, the package or #Twitter who are failing

This time there are no breaking changes but lots of bugs fixes and making easier to use the package.

Hello from RStudio, #rstats! I'm finally testing out #rtweet. It's very easy to use, and it's a nice excuse to do an #introduction! I plan to post about #mlops and #nlp in the coming weeks.

I'm heading to the republic of Georgia (the Transcaucasian country, not the U.S. state) later this week to give workshops on #socialmedia research strategies for mass media & journalism faculty. I'm covering #Netlytic, #Communalytic, the Facebook Ads Library, @dfreelon 's #PykTok, and @kearneymw 's #rtweet - is there anything else I might be missing?

So, I have completed my migration across from #twitter and used a couple of tools 🔧 to help me in the process while I was waiting for my data to arrive.

Thanks to past experience with the excellent #rtweet package for #r & some basic #python scripts plugged into #tweepy -> I scraped my own timeline as an insurance policy & reset my timeline - including likes - using my developer account access. 🥸

I don't give a much of a damn about my twitter post history, but I had a long list of bookmarks I didn't want to lose. Sadly there seems to be no bookmarks API, so #RTweet couldn't help.

There is a heated debate on Mastodon around the #fedified verification list. Some objections revolve around eligibility criteria for inclusion in the list. To be on the list one has to either be previously twitter verified OR have 100k+ followers OR have 20k+ followers AND have the followers:following ratio at least 11:1. I checked how well the existing 500+ persons on the list satisfy these conditions. In short, not well.

Thinking ahead a bit… What are we going to use to gauge #publicOpinion if #rtweet may still be working but Twitter is no longer relevant? Hashtags on their own seem unsatisfactory… @fgilardi #rstats #politics #sociology
