@Sandbagger I'm glad you found that #ruby toy project interesting, the ogpreview was not meant for document #docker with #Rails, but mostly to demonstrate good practices such as Railway Oriented Programming in general and @dry_rb gems in particular.
Also, if you want to go a little bit deeper, you can check the repository for my talk in #RubyConf2022, where it was more about API input validations & in general and #modularity by accident:
#ruby #docker #rails #rubyconf2022 #modularity #dryrb #dryvalidation
The videos from #RubyConf2022 are now public!

Thank you @rubyconf
The recording of my #RubyConf2022 talk "From beginner to expert, and back again" is live!
The talk is about Beginner's Mind, and draws on examples from fields as varied as aviation and geology, to discover lessons we can apply to the world of software development
My @rubyconf talk is now available to watch! Exit(ing) Through the YJIT covers what a JIT is, the difference between MJIT & YJIT, what it means to "exit" YJIT, and what to do about it.

Out of curiosity, I see there is a comparison between the Crystal programming language and Ruby 3.1 with YJIT but I'm curious what the speed difference is between Crystal and Ruby 3.2 with the built in YJIT and recent memory shaping enhancements. Does anyone know if there is a good comparison available for this? The talk from @wyhaines on Crystal for Rubyists touched on speed improvements of Crystal vs Ruby 3.1 but didn't mention 3.2 which is where this question arose from.

Your #Glimmer #Competition weekly reminder (about 2 weeks away). Build a code editor in Glimmer DSL for LibUI (#Ruby #Desktop #Development #GUI Library) by Jan 15, 2023. Fun educational task to do during the New Year break!

@solnic that's one part I really screw on my recorded session at #rubyConf2022, somehow I manage to delete the slide where I mention the sponsoring part, then forget about that :(
@noelrap @joeldrapper @solnic @davetron5000 Hi Noel,
Yeap, I knew that after talking with other current and past committee members at #rubyConf2022
That's why (somehow?) I'm acknowledging my mistake when I mention "I convince myself". Sorry if the post was picturing another position or prone to have a different interpretation.
Maybe next year I'll be able to send that proposal which is currently on my head only.
@kkuchta same here, but even if it looks like a bad idea in the beginning it still feels terrible.
Last time it happen to me - #rubyConf2022 - I knew it will be bad, but it was worst with the change of timezone thingy. But I had no choice because otherwise I would be losing half a day and a lot of moniii ($200 bucks is still a thing for me, sorry)
@getajobmike I just met Chris once at #RubyConf2022 but felt like knew him since forever through all his contributions, scientific paper, etc.
Feels so bad, terrible.
I feel like the Mastodon development & admin communities desperately need to see @dmagliola’s #RubyConf2022 talk on queues.
I guess @jremsikjr is just point you to the fediverse convention of doing an #introduction in the first days around here so we all know you better.
As one of the people talking every single day about ruby.social at #RubyConf2022 I said Welcome!
Finally heading home from #RubyConf2022. And of course our flight is delayed by an hour. Oh well, we had a 2.5 hour layover at in Calgary anyway.
So I was at #rubyconf2022 last week and everyone kept talking about Mastodon. So I decided to jump on board! :ruby:
