@collin I had never use Language Server Protocol and I have no need for #LDP at this point.

All this time I've just checked the documentation and that's how I've found errors on both, the documents or the code on #ruby, #rubygems and #RoR. Being that stubborn gave me more insights on how things works and encouraged myself to contribute to more #OSS

I'm not saying is the best thing to do or nor, just how it happen to me.

Weird interaction: I added the gem Flipper to a project and Paper Trail started complaining that `whodunnit` is not an attribute. Has anyone seen this interaction before?

Been fiddling for a day with a non-responsive bundle install. Added the --verbose option, which gave me the exact error message. It turns out https://rubygems.org/'s IPv6 addresses are sometimes not responsive, so updating /etc/gai.conf to give precedence to IPv4 for #RubyGems solved this issue.
I feel like a #Pro, even though I've no idea what I am doing...

@csara @sajack Welcome to #RubySocial, Sara! I'm always happy to follow fellow Rubyists. I don't do as much RoR as I used to; in fact, I wish more companies did real #RubyLang and #RubyGems development rather than just focusing on the web frameworks that non-tech folks think are synonymous. 🙂

I really wish rubygems would have separate directories for the default (bundled) gems and globally installed gems, in addition to user gems. Currently the default/bundled gems are stored alongside the global gems. This makes uninstall all global gems or migrating your global gems (sans the default/bundled) to another ruby possible.

@NICW The Souvereign Tech Fund supports #public #digital #infrastructure! I would like to see this in #Wales, too. Look at the projects: #OpenSSL, #curl, #RubyGems. My bet is that you have a high percentage of Welsh digital services (greater 30%) who cannot do without these.
