I've said it once, I'll say it a hundred more times: if you look at Musk's public behavior within the context that he earnestly believes (right or wrong) that this reality is a simulation, his tweets, business decisions, narcissism, and persona begins to make a lot more sense.

I think there's a good chance this is a simulation, too, but I wasn't born the son of an South African apartheid-benefitting emerald mine owner, either.

#Bærum #Rud En bilist kolliderte inn i en annen bil, og forsøkte å stikke av fra stedet. Fornærmede fulgte etter og fikk blokkert bilen til mistenkte, før politiet kom til stedet. Mistenkte var påvirket av alkohol, og får førerkortet sitt beslaglagt.

Putting this here:

* I think NASA had worked out the engineering well for #Saturnv scale rocket exhausts in the 60s. #spacex will ultimately need a thrust tunnel under their launch pad and more room around the plume. A gaseous "virtual" diverter won't last long enough.

* I also think the tower will not cope well with rocket exhaust spraying across it as they try to catch a returned rocket.

* I think those two things might be indicative of the present tower possibly being built with a throw away intent. It's presumed there will be a catastrophic #RUD.

* A design for heat shield tiles that fall off while the rocket is stationary will not survive launch or reentry.

* Melting point of high temp steel alloys is too close to the hysteresis of pressure vs. temperature required for a carbon-carbon plate to dimensionally close a gap.

* Coanda effects will pull plasma over parts on the back of #Starship that aren't shielded.

* An adhesive that can handle the pressure and shock of reentry, and also not fail if the tiles do manage to expand into each other?

* The expansion matrix won't be affected by non-symmetrical warping if the temperature isn't perfectly uniform? I presume CFD has been done on all layers as a whole of Starship accounting for uneven heating + pressure changes + torsional stresses as it's translating 3D through buffeting, etc.?

I hope Starship is successful, but it seems like layers of margins taken out of context of each other.
