Went to the #NationalZoo in #WashingtonDC yesterday where I spotted a pair of #RuddyDucks taking turns sitting on an egg. (The male is the one with the lighter blue beak).

One of the zookeepers explained that this is decidedly atypical behavior and the ruddy ducks at the National Zoo are the only ones in the world where the males participate in incubating the eggs.
