This second image is a cropped version of the one above. You can see the covered in yellow well. Instead of putting the centre of the flower in the centre of the image, I’ve used the to try to make it a bit more interesting, which has the added benefit of being able to fit an entire petal into the frame.

Just a nice flower shot. I can hear my teacher's review in my head, "need to work on composition and the background." Added some vignette to this picture to pull focus back to the flower. Still about 5000 files left in my unsorted folder, least I can stay warm till I can get back out and shoot.

Last Summer I practiced Rule of Thirds on my flowers for my intro class. This was a fun challenge spot the subject, sneak up on it, dial in the settings for the shot, manually focus, then take the shot.

Things I would improve is pay attention to the background. Instead of manual use one of the other priority modes.

Big loopy watermarks are useful in online photography because they help distinguish photographers who know their work isn't very good from photographers who don't know their work isn't very good.
