I'm focusing on the first day of the #holly moon today and I wondered if anyone has any holly-themed stories and #folklore, or traditional holly uses they would like to share?

In return I can offer my new month rune reading in which I pulled Raidho, Uruz and Thurisaz. ​I like this reading. I feel that the three letters are similar in their meaning. Work may be required through this month, but obstacles will be overcome and challenges dealt with.

Raidho: journey. Movement, growth, work. Change is coming - it will require work, but will be worth it.
Uruz: wild oxen. Strength and will. Overcoming obstacles with courage.
Thurisaz: thorn. Passion and protection. Deal with challenges as they come, with a level head.

I’m back from the runestone ride today. Turns out it would have been good to at least do some planning. I would’ve needed an adventure bike to get to some the runestones. Google maps tried to get me to ride on a small gravel path in the woods. I did manage to get to two runestones though. And drove past a bunch of others.

This is U 337, a runic carving on a boulder in Granby north of Stockholm. It’s one of the largest in Uppland. It has a complicated ornamentation in the Urnes style. The inscription mentions several people, some of whom are mentioned on other nearby runestones.

Since it’s flat on the ground it’s very exposed to the environment and gets overgrown with lichen and algae. It was almost impossible to see the inscription.

I’ve traced the runes on 13 out of the 14 varangian runestones that I’ve visited so far. The last one has barely visible runes, and half of them nobody really knows what they are. I still have 16 varangian runestones to visit this summer.

This morning while assembling myself to go to work, I was organizing my backpack and my #runestones kind of went everywhere all over the couch and floor. Oops. So I gathered them all up, and when I got to work, I decided to count how many I had. There should be 24 of them, and there are. Whew. So in a little bit we'll do a three-card #tarot spread, for the day, and then the #runes because, why not? Obviously, my signifier card is the Ten of Swords. LOL. Talk about double-tap!
