Interesting that the Emancipation Proclamation went through more than one draft.

More common than is sometimes realised.

One example is #magnacarta - where the later text issued on behalf of the young Henry III quite a few years after #Runnymede is regarded as the one in force - and has never been rescinded.

Another lesser known case is the #balfourdeclaration . The original draft made no mention of other communities (than the Jewish) in #Palestine . The final one did.
