And seemingly intelligent people who work at a bank see nothing wrong with a $6 entry not decreasing the balance. Did any of these people pay attention in their high school accounting class? #RuralBank #RuralUSA
Over the past several months I've had the distinct displeasure to deal with several small, rural banks in the southern USA. Nice people, but technologically unaware of how anything works, should work, or how customers could be well served by technology. It's not just that they're ignorant. They're confident that they are providing a great service. They can't even seem to grasp that the backward way they operate could be otherwise. The bank software I used 25 years ago in a small northern (USA) city that likely ran on a mainframe was so far superior as to make what they offer look like a really bad joke, but they're convinced that they have cutting edge software. #RuralBank #RuralUSA
