Absolutely. A big part of my energy is being used trying to find ways to burst that bubble. I've talked about #MakeItPurple and an effort to reinforce #RuralDems.

It is much harder to hate a person you know then people that you don't.

The whole goal was decentralization and facilitating independent groups. I can still get that started while I look for land! Hehe, yes. I also am planning on buying land in one of these rural areas eventually. Maybe put some tiny houses on it. I'm trying to factor in natural disasters and climate change. Notice that white area with virtually no tornados?

-Partner with local colleges and university to study efficacy of local programs, synthesize best practices and advise other local chapters on methods that are working.
Cultural and Family Heritage
-Go to county fairs, strawberry festivals, etc.
-One of the community outreach trials could be encouraging people to interview their family and write their stories down. I'd love a library of people's stories ran by the non-profit. Called "Please Share"
-Traveling "Brain Games" demos to illustrate cognitive biases and make people question their assumptions.

Thank you, I even went as far as talk to a SBA mentor about starting a #MakeItPurple #NonProfit but my wife reminded me that now was not a good time.

I'd love it if someone took this idea and ran with it. I would absolutely support it!

I had an associated idea about putting on "Brain Games" style demos at county fairs and such to connect with the community and demonstrate how things like natural biases work to effect your perception.

In the past I often found myself voting in the Republican primary for the saner candidate, but as Georgia has gone purple that calculus is shifting.

I will definitely be looking for more progressive democratic candidates to support in the primaries.

Do you think that targeted promotion of moving to certain districts has any chance of moving the political needle?

Find a community like what @ajroach42 is doing in the Georgia mountain town of Ellijay and promote the shit out of them to nearby cities. If nothing else, it has to eventually burst their bubble of what Feaux News has told them liberals are like, right? This bifurcation can't stand.

I was afraid of that.

One key area that I would like to address would be reversing that trend. Figure out ways to help #RuralDems and promote #MakingItPurple.

Facilitate progressive community building and #Resilience in rural areas. It makes sense to promote it as a whole, but specific areas in vulnerable districts should be targeted.

I think it makes sense politically AND socially. Break the conservative bubbles and allow them to interact act with and see democrats as humans again.

tldr: We need to spread the #democrats OUT!

But YES, we should look to them for both what issues to target AND lend support to any young organizations they come up with to solve the worst problems that they are encountering on the ground.

#RuralYouth and #RuralDems are fertile ground for the biggest gains, on average, imo.

Why don't we have an instance-owned PAC and/or #Nonprofit that solicits donations from the progressive wing of the party?

Then utilizes that $ to bolster the state parties by adding contact positions focused on building grass roots support among #RuralDems. Then you have buy-in, take a seat at the table and turn the table on them.
