I recently bought an electric chainsaw. I’m really liking how easy it is to use and maintain. One thing I hadn’t thought of is that it still needs some fossil fuels (for now) in the form of chain oil, but it’s much quieter, easy to start, and has no stinky fumes. #RuralLiving #ElectrifyEverything

An old wooden cabinet is really only good for being broken up for firewood. She ended up sending me pictures of her hatchet and axe to see which is best for the job.. her axe definitely is much better than mine but it's huge and she doesn't fancy bringing it on the train! I can borrow one off a neighbour but most amused by our Friday night chopper chat! #RuralLiving #firewood

Nearly wrote the bloody car off, and it just rolled over and scampered away like nothing had happened. It was like driving into a fucking pile of sandbags. I damn near shit meself. 🦡

Oak. Freshly split. Smells and splits differently from beech but so so satisfying. This lot will be making a beautiful fire in the stove next christmas i hope - if stacked sensibly in the windy part of the wood stores that is.
