If you use a strict programming language, it will make you a better developer even when working outside/without the given constraints.
From experience, I can tell that this is very true. After working for years with Java, I switched to the safer and stricter Kotlin language and picked up several good programming habits which I could port and apply the same way to Java (which I also did with great success!)
