I was sitting outside the Justin Herman Plaza on the in at sunset one night about 10 years ago.

I was hanging around looking for something to take pictures of and suddenly, out of nowhere, a of acrobatic flooded down Market St with boomboxes and started swinging fire.

This is Water Holes slot canyon in Page Arizona. You need a permit from the native people to go there, and I think it may be shut down for covid - but it's like Antelope Canyon without the hoards.

Before the snow, before the heat - there was the rain.

On the way back from this shoot I actually passed two trees on either side of the road on fire from a lightning strike. It was super cool.

We take the long . The one that doesn't look so good. We take the dirt road that the bus tour of tourists won't take.

Almost always that's where the is.

We take the dirt road, because we can. Because we're not meant to travel in repeatable patterns and nicely laid out grids of pavement.

This was my first monsoon season. Dramatic .
