US Senate bill #S686 would give the government authority over all forms of communication, domestic or abroad. And grants powers to “enforce any mitigation measure to address any risk.”

It’s overbroad and Orwellian. Leave it to government to take advantage of a singular risk for massive overreach.

The TikTok ban is a distraction. And stories about Meta being the reason are also a smoke screen. The bill associated with all this, S.686 aka The RESTRICT Act is far broader reaching. Creating a Ministry of Truth...er... Dept of Communications, and giving the gov't free reign to hack any internet connected device. It's downright terrifying
