Maria Speth's The Days Between is a great film. Heavily indebted to WKW and Tsai, but there’s nothing cute or sentimental about it. Speth's less concerned about solid storytelling. Lynn (Timoteo)’s going with the flow attitude rings much truer than any youth romance film. Even though she is rebellious, she is still bound by tradition, family and most of all, herself.
