These protections are nice, but there are a few drawbacks. If you turn on Enhanced Safe Browsing, you share more data, like what your are downloading, with Google. If you are signed into Chrome, your Google account is also temporarily linked to your browsing data.

Falls sich mal jemand fragt, was an dem #safebrowsing "Feature" in #firefox eigentlich scheisse ist. #google wird dass sich genauso machen. :) also liefert Firefox halbstündig die IP des Nutzenden an Google.

Concernant Firefox, il suffit de désactiver le #safebrowsing pour empêcher la collecte de données par Google.

De hace un tiempo he tenido problemas accediendo a notabug.org, un servicio de hosting de #Git . Igual otras personas que conozco con las que consulté, incluso del teletrabajo.

Después de consultar con los encargados del sitio y con mi ISP, parece ser que notabug está siendo bloqueado en Chile por un reporte de #SafeBrowsing de *un* archivo.

This is great. Shame this website is on #CloucHore, which hide emails from #TorBrowser users. If there is a non-CloucHore website (#BranchMacMasterLLP?) with the same info, we'll share.

Very good to see. #Google should be compelled to destroy the records also.

On this topic, look into Google #SafeBrowsing. Also CloucHore have monopolised DNS lookups with some help from #Mozilla (see #DNSOverHTTPS).

Okay, so today we gave #Google the benefit of the doubt - a mistake.

We were researching #Firefox hardening techniques and discovered that their #SafeBrowsing feature doesn't send to Google the precise URL but a trivial(?) part of the #hash of the URL then Google sends over a list of hashes of, according to them, bad sites that match the hash provided.

So far so good.
