Of course my first question on making a SAGA inspired game, is do I want those eight attributes, or do I want to mix it up?

Also wondering if I should build in psionics off Presence (Charisma?) but that feels like there should then be a fourth magic type of the remaining mental attribute.

I realize one of the reasons I’m drawn to the Saga system is how similar the core mechanics are to my own game, Short Order Heroes. Mine was much simpler: Determine difficulty, draw a card, and use card to determine and narrate results.

I like the redraw on Trumps mechanic, that’s pretty cool.

I definitely feel like I should make myself a custom deck.

Was reorganizing my bookshelf and decided to look at Dragonlance Fifth Age. It’s been on my shelf for years but never really looked at it. A friend of mine said he played a really enjoyable campaign of it.

I know it was a total financial failure. But it seems like it was a unique and innovative system. With the capability to get cards printed on demand, I wonder if a card based RPG would be viable now.

Anyone play this before?

I added the tag #SAGARPG because I originally designed the deck to homebrew games similar to Marvel and Dragonlance SAGA.

This came up today, I created two slightly different five-suited decks of playing cards. I want to design a better back and eventually make true face cards.

Cinque is a standard deck, every card in a suit is the same color. Double Cinque, there are cards that are the same color from 0 to 11, but they include all five suits.
