‘The Peripheral’ Canceled at Amazon Despite Season 2 Renewal

Amazon cancelled the show despite renewing it already for season 2 and the reason they’re citing: WGA & SAG strikes and the show won’t be ready till the 2025 season.

They also killed the new season of A League Of Their Own.

Get ready, I’m predicting we will see a LOT of this not only on the streaming services but on the networks.

It's amazing to see BBC pick this up. I'm not sure why these big studios are even necessary. The Internet allows for digital distribution, and there's amazing independent theaters all over the country. Ditch the big studios permanently, and for fucks sake, let us purchase the movies DIRECTLY AT RELEASE for a reasonable price.

5. You now have a worker/writer/artist owned cooperative, with distribution, stories, and an audience!

Performers should *absolutely* have some control over their digital likeness. An unfortunate side effect of the #SAGstrike (from a #vfx standpoint) is that getting actors and extras into the "cyberscan" or photo booth for digital double reference capture is going to be a whole lot messier going forward. I completely understand the concerns, but oof. Actors: On-set VFX teams are really not out to screw you over. Just trying to make the audience believe you did that impossible stunt for real.
