Lost a shackle yesterday, when setting up the #sailboat . So I fixed it the way sailors have fixed things for millennia, with a bit of rope!
Use it up, make do, fix it up, or do without!
So far it's survived 15kt winds and an unplanned jibe. Seems like it'll hold.

Today I'm missing the hotel room I had in Seattle. There, I had a jetted hot tub; here, I have only a hot shower. Of course, I hear that the Florida coast has waters as hot as a hot tub these days. Maybe I should hop on my yacht and sail over there...ah, someday...

It doesn't get a huge amount of traffic -- certainly not as much as a Reddit thread or a FB group might (not sure, don't do either)
But! the original designer Jerry Montgomery, and the original builder (I forget his name rn) often answer emails personally. What a treasure!
I love the parts of the old internet still kicking around. Quality stuff.
