Hmm, I was assuming Ben Mears, the writer, was the Stephen King reflection character but now I think it’s Mark Petrie, the boy. Then again I think the boys (and perhaps some of the girls) in King’s stories are the best reflection of him and perhaps why he writes teenagers so well #SalemsLot

This is more subtle than I expected. Very little dialogue, no explanation so far, just straight into atmosphere and mystery #SalemsLot

'Salem's Lot aired on CBS as a two-part miniseries. That I knew already.

What I didn't know what that they aired those two episodes a week apart. Can you imagine how much momentum is lost in a horror movie when there's a week break in the action? What a terrible decision on the part of the studio execs!

Well that's far from the worst vampire/horror movie that I've seen. #salemslot 3 hours though. Two day miniseries originally. David Soul and his boy wonder, the vampire slayers. Of course they set the old house on fire. Of course they couldn't kill all the vampires. Of course they're on the run. But at least the soundtrack isn't giving away the last trick ending. #film

This evening's viewing: retro #horror with the 1970s adaptation of Stephen King's vamp tale, Salem's Lot (the one with Starky & Hutch's David Soul).

Haven't seen this in years. Pacing very slow by modern standards, but still enjoyable, with a few effectively chilling moments.
