🌊 In just the last couple of days after Hurricane #Idalia, two electric vehicles, one in Pinellas Park and a #Tesla in Palm Harbor, caught fire after the storm surge pushed a wall of #saltwater inland.
Carfax spokesperson Patrick Olsen said owners need to understand the fire risk doesn't go away after the vehicle dries out.
🌊 “The saltwater that is flooding can get into the battery and dry there and once it dries, it creates what federal #safety_officials call #bridges between cells, and that can lead to fires, and that those fires can come anywhere from days to #weeks_later.

I wanted to make some new art for the #WaterDocsARTivism challenge for the theme ‘Water is Life: Interconnection’.
All life needs water and is intimately connected to water. I’ve gone with some conceptual art. This is a cyanotype I made with a photo I took of the lake earlier this summer. It’s the first half of a diptych. About and made with water!

"As the ocean intrudes and saltwater rises, it kills trees and creates these ghost forests—bare trunks, and stumps, ashen tombstones marking a once-thriving coastal ecosystem. In North Carolina, #pine, #RedMaple, #sweetgum and bald #cypress forests are being replaced by saltmarsh. Eventually, that saltmarsh will be replaced by open water, a shift that leads to significant and complex costs to the environment and the local economy. The loss of forests will reduce carbon storage, further fueling climate change, and the agriculture industry, timber interests will suffer as saltwater moves inland."

I can never find people when searching back. We had this conversation about two days ago, with someone interested in #trees, and fruit trees tolerant of the ocean.
And now I can't find them. Maybe they will see this, if I tag it to death?
What we have here, is apple trees, at the shoreline; #ocean comes over the base of the furthest one regularly, the one on the right is higher, but was taken down twice by Hurricane Storm Surge & waves. Yet, they both produce apples.
