On the homeward leg I did see something rather unusual out of the corner of my eye. On the ground, on the forest track I was walking, there was something rather colourful, and unnatural.

A stitched eye from a soft toy I think. It seemed to have been there a wee while so I thought I’d take it rather than let it rot.

I’m thinking of sewing it onto a hat, with a patched eye on the other side.

Before the rain came, I salvaged some nice straight construction lumber out of the neighbor's dumpster.

I'm hoping I can use these to finish my lathe bench. Time to pull nails.

Very addicting this #vape device habit of mine.

I cannot seem to stop myself taking apart single-use "disposable" #ecigarette vaping pens that I find discarded in the streets in order to salvage the components, namely the rechargeable #LithiumPolymer batteries that they use, in most cases only once.

Tossed many non-viable ones into the battery recycling bins

And I still have a backlog of 24 more pens to disassemble!

The primary of this mains #transformer that was in a power brick from the 1990s seems to be broken internally.

What else can I use it for? Should I attempt to recycle the magnet wire? Try to rewind the laminated core?

The other two transformers seem fine. They both came from digital clocks.
