Previous renters at our place were Iranian and they left this beautiful samovar just standing there 😄 This is basically a very fancy teapot, one of the staples of the Eastern tea culture.
Interestingly, Russians also used samovars a long time ago. Not only it is called the same name, but the shape is almost identical as well. We do not use samovars these days, but it is definitely a huge part of our tea culture as well!

I just got a lovely #samovar from #Ukraine that works on electricity, but even using Google Translate the instructions are pretty brief, and I guess the assumption is ‘everyone knows how to use one’. I turned it on and the water is starting to heat up, maybe it will boil(?), but can I just leave it plugged in to maintain water heat? How about the teapot on top?
