Back from a very windy camping trip to Bruneau Sand Dunes. An nice bonus was the free dermabrasion while watching the sunset from Little Dune! Now I must go dig the sand out of my dog's ears.

Mesquite Dunes

Not far from Stovepipe Wells is Mesquite Flat Dunes. One of 5 sand dunes in Death Valley and the most accessible. The sand in these dunes is some of the finest sand that Because of this the hike can be strenuous.
I wasn't going to stop this time through the park but I was mesmerized by the quality of the light that was shinning on them. See the full image here: fineartamerica.com/featured/me

Sand Mountain Recreation Area, Nevada (3/16/2023). Sadly, it is "recreation" for offroad vehicles only. It would be nice if, say, two days per week no vehicles were allowed. It would give hikers and photographers a chance to use the area. I'd love the opportunity to do closeup photography of a nearby pristine sand dune after a wind storm. But no, we have to go to Death Valley or elsewhere for that.

Desert Patterns

The Algodones Dunes were introduced to me by @alexskunz many years ago and Nature’s patterns have enchanted me since. But in the winter, when the temperatures are moderate, you need to get out early before the dune buggies start making their own patterns.
