#SandraBland was wrongfully and violently taken into custody July 10, 2015 for supposedly not using her turn signal. She died suspiciously while in the Waller County Jail (West of Houston, Texas).

Charges against the arresting officer were dropped
The county sheriff and jail staff were not indicted.

For decades my reaction when someone mentioned »Texas« was neutral.

Then I watched Thelma & Louise (1991) and that changed to a negative emotional reaction as in »Oh, don't go there, it's not safe.«

Since 2015 and the death of #SandraBland this negative emotional reaction has intensified. Today it's so strong, I wouldn't even travel through that (and many more) US state(s).

So yes, how I view the US (and certain states in particular) has changed immensly over the last 40 years.

True too for mixed people.

Remembering #SandraBland. Let's make her trend so the nation doesn't forget her and the injustice law enforcement and white supremacy did to her.
