#SanFranciscoCinemas Project: December 14th
Every year the folks at Prelinger (rhymes with "day finger", I think?) Archive and Long Now Foundation put on Lost Landscapes, a show of archival footage from in and around San Francisco. This was my first year attending!
The showing was at Herbst Theater, also my first time there. Absolutely stellar air quality, good seats (armrests a little narrow), good sight lines, and a superb screen for 1.37:1 ratio images.
Definitely a favorite so far!

Steven Kovács (I hope I got the accent right) shared two shorts he worked on that both delve into the lives of spry octogenarians: Arthur and Lillie and High as a Kite. I recommend both, they were quite touching and engaging
The event took place at SFSU's Coppola Theater, a nice space! Bright screen image, good sight lines, and the sound system seemed good. Seats were a little narrow, but not uncomfortable
I also learned that I mispronounce "Coppola"
#SanFranciscoCinemas Project Note:
I will do my best to respect each #cinema's preferred spelling of theater/theatre, but I can make no guarantees I'll get it right each time

Lumpia: With a Vengeance (2020) finished up its national tour yesterday at the #BigRoxie https://www.roxie.com/
I love the #Roxie cinemas, but the constrained lobby size was a big impact while I waited for the screening—a preceding event seemed to have a full house, and the logistics of clearing out the theater were hampered by the small lobby and the tendency of people to linger outside after exiting

I watched a trio of Buster Keaton shorts at the #CastroTheatre as part of #ADayOfSilents put on by the San Francisco Silent Film Festival https://silentfilm.org/
This might have been my first time in the balcony at the Castro—the screen image and audio was quite good, and the ornamental features of the theatre are amazing.
The seats are very narrow, though, so less accommodating for American-sized patrons

Watched The Cat's Meow (2001) at the Mechanics' Institute.
The Institute hosts regular screenings for its CinemaLit film series. Each series seems to have a theme connecting the movies and putting them in context, which is quite fun!
The 2022 #SanFranciscoCinemas Project Goal:
Watch a #movie in every #cinema in San Francisco, California during the month of December
The rules:
• Prioritize "permanent" cinemas over temporary screening spaces; e.g., The Box SF doesn't count
• Visiting one screen at a multiplex is sufficient
• It's ok to fail (e.g. I don't expect the #Dolby HQ Screening Room will be readily available)
• Due to scheduling constraints, the majority of cinema visits will happen in the final week
