"S.F. police get pay boost and retention bonuses amid struggling recruitment and crime fears"
No wait, that was supposed to read "after years of slow walking all their work, screwing up investigations, bad shootings and basically abandoning traffic enforcement to make the case that they needed more cops and more money, and years of the Chronicle and Fucker Carlson and the like promoting bullshit stories about crime and stoking people's fears"

It's interesting that while the video caption files for City government board, commission, etc. hearings are available, there search function does not seem to work for all them.
Be nice if some tech person could download them and make the text properly searchable

Holy bounteous bovines!
An MTA Board member just said - in the public Board meeting - of SFPD enforcement of moving violations, "We know they don't enforce anything"!
After 3:10 pm in the SF Gov TV 2 recording of the hearing when it becomes available.

My office joined @SCCgov, @nycgov, & other local jurisdictions in an amicus brief arguing against an extremist federal judge’s ruling threatening access to the abortion pill Mifepristone.
Removal of Mifepristone from the market would undermine public health and further erode access to reproductive care in the United States. The Fifth Circuit should grant a stay of the lower court ruling.

It's wild that we are at the point where so many City leaders will simply shrug when the cost of SFPD's MOU--represented as a $84 million package--turns out to cost $166 million. Fiscal hawks turn into ostriches when it comes to police money.
