Spent three days and two nights earlier this week on Santa Cruz Island, where we had our first encounter with Channel Island foxes, the world's cutest lil' apex predators.
They are smaller than house cats and absolutely unbothered by people — one spent two afternoons napping a dozen meters from our tent.

Great story from our local paper here in Ventura County, CA. I rode for years when I was younger and trained my horse and pony. I miss riding.
