I might re-track the solos but this is about as good as I can do for now and I'm happy with where I'm going

Thursday's rehearsal with "Purple Bamboo" was my first with the Sanxian. It was quite a challenge in ways I never expected. Playing with an ensemble on a instrument with variable tuning was part of it but I had also learned the songs differently from everybody else. Between those two, I was constantly struggling to find my place

Rather interesting...haven't played my Bass since Saturday, focused on the Sanxian. Well I took it out and the finger stress of working with the Sanxian the last few days means my fingers are warmed up, lose and fast on the Bass

Sanxian has been fun but feels good to be home

"Smaller Model"

The Southern Sanxian is smaller, it has a 75cm (30") scale length(string length from bridge to nut)

The other sanxian I ordered (still in the shop, waiting for a replacement string from China) is the Northern style and is about a foot longer
