#Sapiens is the second #book of 2023 I #DNF

#Sapiens continues to be a very frustrating book to listen to/read. Riddled with wild speculation discussed in definitive terms and just plain factual inaccuracies. I’ve been trying to add some #NonFiction into my #Reading but this book was definitely a mistake.

I just had a really cool interaction:

I'm the maintainer for a few popular #sapiens mods. The author of Sapiens just released a hotfix which actually broke my 'Vanilla Tweaks' mod :/

While I was sleeping a few people reported the issue, and the *author of the game actually fixed the issue on his end*, and released a new version of the game.

That's the really cool part for modding a smaller game. Thanks dave <3

I love modding, but I *hate* updating my mods, and all the fluff that comes with it; authoring the update, writing release notes, taking new screeshots, and then updating it 😫

I know there's valid criticism against stuff Yuval Noah Harari wrote in "Sapiens" but I think he was spot on about religion and capitalism both being the same thing. Both ideas that spread quickly (in terms of total human history) and gained dominance, but only work as long as the involved parties believe in this ineffable thing. Except capitalism is mandatory.

Capitalism has existed for 200 years or so. Modern homo sapiens has existed for 800 times that.
