Excellent sleuthing by these Japanese researchers!

“…it is important to keep monitoring the variant at molecular levels, namely PCR & genome sequencing…diagnostic kit should be continuously updated as new variants emerge. Unlike RATs, which require more time-consuming efforts to be adapted to new mutations, RT-qPCR tests will easily be adapted…by designing new primer-probe sets…PCR test should be redundant…examining other domains at the same time….”

Please take a moment, & review this table from @erictopol

He presents a summary of studies quantifying the objective increase in risk for heart disease & stroke post infection.

Not one study shows infection is good for you.

Do you feel lucky?

Lets bring that out in the data & into a parametric model.

This shows the rate at which symptoms resolve within the scope of the study.

About 10% of infected individuals were experiencing symptoms at 1 year.

That's *huge*

The blue line has been added to show that about 5% would still be experiencing symptoms at 3 yrs.

This table shows the symptoms resolving within *one year* of those reporting initial symptoms.

The orange column shows the percentage that last a year (or longer).
